As Group Sustainability & Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in defining and delivering the Sustainability & Procurement strategy of the Iris Group.
You will be the cross-functional point of reference for sustainability across the Group and will actively contribute to the further development of our ESG and sustainability strategy by identifying risks and opportunities, setting priorities and driving concrete, measurable actions.
At the same time, you will define and lead the Group procurement policy, balancing economic performance, quality, risk management and our environmental, social and ethical commitments.
You will also oversee Fleet & Facility and support teams in integrating sustainability and responsible procurement practices into their decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of the Group's sustainability strategy and advise management on environmental, social, economic and governance-related matters
- Define and drive a sustainability roadmap with clear priorities, measurable actions and realistic timelines
- Identify sustainability-related risks and opportunities and formulate recommendations for management
- Act as the cross-functional point of reference for all sustainability-related matters across the Group
- Contribute to the development of a consistent sustainability governance framework across departments and entities
- Raise awareness among employees and act as an internal ambassador for sustainability
- Define and lead the Group procurement policy and establish procurement procedures, rules and standards
- Negotiate and coordinate Group-wide contracts across all departments, both business and support functions, including goods and services, energy, fleet and buildings
- Ensure quality and economic performance while integrating sustainability criteria into purchasing decisions
- Ensure compliance with established procurement procedures and rules and support departments in their implementation
- Integrate ESG criteria into tenders, supplier selection, contracts and contract renewals
- Develop and implement a supplier charter setting out the expected social, environmental and ethical commitments
- Develop a methodology for assessing suppliers in terms of compliance, environmental, social and ethical performance, total cost and overall performance
- Challenge supplier choices where they present sustainability, compliance or total cost risks
- Identify high-impact purchasing categories and promote relevant sustainable alternatives
- Build constructive relationships with suppliers to help them further improve their sustainable practices
- Calculate, coordinate and monitor the Group's carbon footprint across Scopes 1, 2 and 3
- Ensure the quality, consolidation and traceability of sustainability and procurement data required for Group reporting, customer questionnaires and audits
- Define key ESG and sustainability indicators and implement dashboards to monitor progress, deviations and action priorities
- Monitor relevant standards and certifications, including SBTi, ISO 14001, CO₂ Performance Ladder, EcoVadis and carbon certifications
- Coordinate EcoVadis assessments, drive the resulting action plans and contribute to the monitoring of the ISO 14001 standard
- Monitor regulatory, normative and market developments in order to anticipate changes that may impact the Group
- Support departments in integrating sustainability into their practices, decisions and action plans
- Work closely with the business and the various departments to address organisational needs while ensuring alignment with the Group's sustainability strategy and procurement policy
- Provide Sales and Marketing teams with the data and arguments they need to credibly showcase the Group's sustainability commitments and achievements
- Work with Marketing to ensure that our commitments are communicated in a consistent and credible way
- Build and maintain a sustainable ecosystem with suppliers, experts, advisors and other external partners
- Oversee the Fleet & Facility department, including the Facility Coordinator responsible for managing the Group's buildings
- Ensure that decisions relating to buildings, energy, waste and fleet are aligned with the Group's sustainability objectives and procurement policy
- Prepare and monitor the budgets within your scope: procurement, energy, buildings, waste, fleet, maintenance and investments
- Ensure compliance with legal and environmental requirements, participate in audits and follow up on action plans
- Drive continuous improvement and coordinate projects within your scope

- You have a higher education degree or equivalent experience, ideally complemented by training in procurement, sustainability or ESG
- You have 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role within procurement, sustainability, ESG or supply chain
- You have excellent knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, commercial negotiations and indirect procurement, particularly in services, energy, fleet, buildings and supplier contracts
- You have a good understanding of sustainable procurement, total cost of ownership and supplier compliance
- You have a strong understanding of the challenges, strategies and trends related to sustainability and ESG
- You are proficient in MS Office and reporting, dashboard and ESG reporting tools
- You are bilingual in Dutch and French and also have a good command of English, both written and spoken
- You have a good knowledge of the market and its developments and are able to anticipate trends and their impact on the organisation
