As a Short Term Portfolio Optimization Analyst, you play a key role in maximizing the value of Luminus’ gas and power portfolio. Working at the heart of energy markets, you combine analytical expertise, market insight and innovation to optimize short-term operations, improve decision-making and support the performance of our generation assets, renewable portfolio and flexibility solutions.
What you'll do

You optimize gas and electricity portfolios across Day-Ahead and Intraday markets while balancing technical, economic and regulatory constraints to create maximum value.

Working closely with colleagues across Optimization, Forecasting, Pricing, Middle Office, Back Office, Generation and Finance, you continuously improve and align short-term optimization strategies.

You contribute to the development of advanced optimization solutions, including AI, machine learning, automation and forecasting models that enhance market performance and operational decision-making.

Through market analysis and performance monitoring, you identify improvement opportunities and help adapt strategies related to trading, battery storage, renewable assets, ancillary services and flexibility products.
- You support operational excellence by monitoring results, defining meaningful KPIs, preparing analyses and ensuring compliance with internal policies, market obligations and risk frameworks.
- Beyond daily operations, you coordinate and contribute to business and IT projects, helping to improve tools, processes and ways of working while sharing knowledge and coaching colleagues.
What you bring

A university degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Engineering or another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the energy sector, utilities or commodities markets, where you developed a strong understanding of market dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities that enable you to translate complex information into practical actions and recommendations.

Excellent communication skills that allow you to advise stakeholders, transfer knowledge and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience working independently while remaining highly organized, proactive and focused on quality and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of electricity and gas markets, Microsoft Office, Python and modern AI or machine-learning technologies, combined with fluency in English, Dutch and French.
