About the Role
We are looking for a Packaging Engineer to join the Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team working in a highly innovative clinical environment. You will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination and packaging design of clinical study materials, including advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapies, across a global portfolio of approximately 300 ongoing clinical studies.
This is not a pure support role: you will own your compounds and studies, ensuring that packaging solutions are compliant, robust, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Own and coordinate packaging activities for assigned clinical studies and compounds
Design packaging concepts and kits that meet regulatory, quality, and study-specific requirements
Coordinate and manage suppliers providing packaging materials, including implementation and follow-up
Work daily with dedicated management systems to manage packaging data, documentation, and processes
Perform end-to-end review and analysis of packaging processes to identify improvements and best ways to support the team
Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations for all packaging activities
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders in a global clinical environment
Contribute as an active member of an 8-person MS&T team based in Beerse
Profile & Requirements
Engineering degree (or equivalent technical background)
4–6 years of relevant experience, ideally in:
Packaging design and development
Packaging processes in a GMP, pharmaceutical, or clinical environment
Proven experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and suppliers
Strong affinity with SAP and generally tech-savvy; comfortable working with specialized management systems
Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team
Language Skills
Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory
Dutch is highly preferred
Work Setup
Standard: ~1 day per week onsite in Beerse
Initial phase: 1–3 days per week onsite for onboarding and ramp-upHybrid model:
