Would you like to help shape the digitalization of our production environments and play a key role in our extensive MES landscape? As a Business Analyst within the IT Manufacturing team, you will contribute to the further rollout, modernization and optimization of our MES solutions across our factories. Our custom MES solution, Shopfloor Control, is a foundational solution for our Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives.
In this role, you act as the bridge between business and the development team, translating needs into pragmatic, scalable solutions that support manufacturing excellence, efficiency, quality and data-driven decision-making.
- You analyze and optimize end-to-end production processes together with business stakeholders
- You have an active presence on the shop floor to identify opportunities for value creation
- You take responsibility throughout the different project phases to implement our MES solution across various plants
- You translate business needs into clear requirements, features and user stories, challenge complexity, and help prioritize pragmatic solutions with a focus on business value
- You organize and facilitate design workshops
- You guide projects from analysis through go-live and aftercare
- You collaborate closely with the product owner, solution architect and development team to refine backlog items, define acceptance criteria, validate features and support agile delivery throughout sprints
- You contribute hands-on to the configuration of the MES solution for the specific needs of each site
- You support integration testing, user acceptance testing, key-user training and end-user training, and document bugs and improvement opportunities for the backlog
- You support local plant teams in collecting, cleaning and uploading master data, safeguard best practices, and ensure data quality
- You make MES data available for analytical reporting through SQL queries and collaborate with data engineers and other business analysts across systems such as EWM, SAP and OMP
- You collaborate with automation engineers to set up bi-directional communication with machine PLCs
- You coordinate change management activities, monitor project progress, and help safeguard scope, milestones and effective cross-team collaboration
- You help provide 1st-line support in a rotation system and deliver 2nd-line,with a critical eye for recurring issues, root causes and continuous improvement
- Master’s degree in IT, Business Engineering, Engineering, Economics, Logistics or a related field.
- Experience with the full lifecycle of implementing MES systems in international or industrial environments is a strong plus
- Affinity with agile development and iterative solution delivery, and the ability to work effectively in a Scrum-based product environment
- Interest in or exposure to .NET, Angular and Oracle technologies
- Strong SQL knowledge and the ability to write queries for reporting and data analysis
- Understanding of operational technology (OT), including PLC, OPC, MQTT and SCADA
- Passion for how MES systems can improve manufacturing excellence and help plant operations teams achieve their objectives
- Experience in an industrial environment, including collaboration with operators, process engineers and production engineers on the shop floor
- Strong analytical skills, end-to-end process thinking and a pragmatic mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity and focus on business value
- A strong sense of ownership, proactive thinking and problem-solving ability, combined with the confidence to work autonomously and escalate when needed
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across different levels of the organization and with both IT and business stakeholders
- Comfortable preparing and documenting meetings, maintaining oversight, and coordinating effectively across teams and domains
- Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus
- Comfortable working with geographically diverse and multi-cultural teams, and willing to travel occasionally to plants
