The AI Boost & Consultancy team is Telenet's internal catalyst for AI-driven transformation. Our mission is to become Telenet's trusted partner for accelerating AI value creation. Our team goes into the business, helps recipient teams discover what's possible with AI Agents, and leaves them with the knowledge and tools to keep going autonomously. We do this through hands-on Boosts (a full quarter embedded with a tribe), targeted AI Consultancy projects, and company-wide AI Enablement initiatives including workshops, training and thought leadership.
To strengthen the technical backbone of this team, we are looking for a Tech Lead GenAI who combines deep technical expertise in Generative AI engineering with a strong interest in the business side of things. You are not just a builder, rather you are someone who can think along with business teams in a workshop setting and then roll up your sleeves to setup and roll out AI Agents.
Your mission
Be the technical anchor of the AI Boost & Consultancy team: lead by example in designing and building agentic GenAI solutions, uplift the technical capabilities of the team and the tribes you work with, and ensure that everything the team delivers is technically sound, scalable and production-ready. You combine a passion for cutting-edge AI technology with the ability to translate business challenges pragmatically into working solutions together with others.
What you will do
- Lead technical delivery in Boost engagements . Embed with business tribes for a full quarter alongside Data Strategists, guiding them from use-case selection through experimentation and validation to a working AI Agent MVP. You own the technical quality of what gets built.
- Design agentic GenAI solutions . Translate business problems into scalable agentic GenAI architectures. Evaluate and select the right models, frameworks, tools and integration patterns for each use case.
- Build hands-on . You are not just the person who draws the architecture – you code, prototype and cocreate, pushing the team forward. You lead by doing and bring a strong "maker" mentality.
- Uplift technical capabilities. Coach and mentor Data Strategists and GenAI Engineers within the team and within the tribes you support. Raise the bar on engineering practices, code quality and GenAI best practices through training-by-doing.
- Champion engineering excellence. Define and enforce technical standards, guidelines and ways of working (e.g., version control, testing, CI/CD, documentation). Ensure common engineering practices across all Boost deliverables.
- Stay at the forefront of GenAI. Continuously scan the market for emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices. Translate trends into practical recommendations and proof-of-concepts for the team and the wider organization.
- Co-facilitate workshops and discovery sessions. Participate in business-facing workshops with tribes, bringing the technical perspective: what is feasible, what has the highest value-to-effort ratio, and how should we approach it.
- Sparring partner for leadership. Act as the technical SPOC for the Product Owner and the GenAI Cluster leadership on technical feasibility, technology choices and engineering capacity.
Your profile
Must-haves
- Python (or similar): Strong proficiency, with the ability to work confidently in complex codebases and rapidly prototype GenAI solutions.
- Generative AI expertise: Proven hands-on experience with GenAI technologies: LLMs, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, RAG architectures and AI Agent frameworks.
- Business acumen: A genuine interest in the business side. You can think along with stakeholders about value, feasibility, and prioritization.
- Tool-leveraging mindset: Clear willingness to stay up to date and leverage the best available tools at full potential (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, modern AI-assisted development).
- Version control (Git): Understanding of Git and collaborative workflows using GitLab or GitHub.
- Coaching & leadership: Ability to coach less senior profiles, set technical direction and lead by example without formal hierarchical authority.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing requirements, priorities, and evolving technical directions in a fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- AWS: Understanding how to use AWS services in code and navigate commonly used services (Bedrock, SageMaker, EKS/Kubernetes).
- Consulting or transformation experience: Previous experience as an (internal) consultant, in an innovation lab, or a transformation role is a plus.
Who you are
- A hands-on technical leader with a passion for Generative AI and a strong drive to create business value, not just cool tech.
- Someone who thrives in ambiguity: you bring structure, pragmatism and energy to teams that are just starting their AI journey.
- A natural communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and facilitate workshops with confidence.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a strong plus given our stakeholder landscape.
- Master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering or equivalent through experience. At least 5 years of experience in AI, software engineering, or a related technical field.
