The University of Antwerp’s Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for a full-time project and communication coordinator for a newly established research consortium, which aims at fostering and supporting ethnographic research, and eventually establishing an Ethnography Hub.
Position
The position includes the following tasks:

You will contribute to the development of the Ethnographic Hub at UAntwerpen and to the dissemination of its research activities and findings. You will be involved in three different projects/settings, which constitute the basis on which the Hub is built: the MIGLOBA Network, led by Milena Belloni; the ERC project ReWorkChange, Remote Work and Social Change: an Anthropological Approach, led by Elisabetta Costa; and the activities led by Paolo Favero within the framework of his research team (among of them the coordination of the ViDi Research Group).

Communication management. You will coordinate and implement communication activities in these three projects/settings. These include website managements, content creation and editing, the development of social media campaigns (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn), newsletters production, assistance with podcast production, and support for film-making activities.

Project management. You will be responsible for logistical coordination, financial monitoring, and financial reporting. You will provide broader administrative support.

Event organization. You will organize conferences, workshops, seminars, and group meetings

Support for funding applications. You will assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals.

Editorial and archival support. You will contribute to the editing and preparation of publications and for the archiving of visual materials.
Profile

You hold a Master’s degree with high grades. Master’s degrees in the Humanities and Social Sciences are a plus. Degrees in other fields will be equally considered if you have experience in academic project management and communication strategies.

You have previous working experience as project and communication coordinator in the academic sector or other relevant sectors.

You have strong skills in planning and organisation, and you can work independently.

You are a flexible and enthusiastic team player.

You have previous experience in working with a multicultural team.

You have knowledge of specific Project Management systems and/or of the required technology.

You are proficient in using various applications, including Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Dynamics, Adobe Suite (especially Premiere, Photoshop/Lightroom, Illustrator, etc.) or willing to learn it in a short time.

You have excellent oral and written knowledge of English. Competences in Dutch (and other languages) are a plus.

You commit to work with us for 6 years- this period will allow the candidate and the team to build the foundation of the Ethnographic Research Hub.
What we offer

We offer a full-time contract for a period of 6 years that starts on 1st September 2026.

You will receive a gross monthly salary within pay band 7.1 of the pay scales of the Administrative and Technical Staff. Your entry-level grade depends on your relevant professional experience.

You will receive meal vouchers, ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.

We offer flexible working hours.

You will have 40 days of annual leave and collective leave for 1 week when the university is closed, between Christmas and New Year.

You will do most of your work at The City Campus and online.
