Frontend Expert
Role summary
As Senior Technical Engineer/Frontend Expert and part of Software Engineering & Automation team, you define, maintain and support the adoption of software engineering standards, guidelines and reusable practices across development teams, with a strong focus on front-end engineering.
You act as a technical reference for front-end technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, Stencil and Web Components, while quickly understanding broader technical topics beyond the front-end domain.
You also contribute to defining development practices that are secure, accessible, sustainable and maintainable, and support responsible adoption of AI-assisted software engineering tools and practices.
Key responsibilities

Engineering standards, guidelines and adoption support

Define, maintain and improve software engineering standards, best practices, and translate them into guidance for development teams.

Explore and assess new technologies, drive the evolution of engineering frameworks, reusable components, templates, reference applications and technical documentation

Support adoption through documentation, workshops, coaching, helping teams apply standards consistently while adapting them to their specific context.

Promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing through internal communication channels, technical updates, newsletters and communities of practice, especially in collaboration with other technical leads.

Front-end Engineering and expertise

Provide senior expertise in front-end engineering, including Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Stencil and Web Components.

Follow the evolution of the front-end ecosystem and assess the relevance, maturity and applicability of emerging technologies, frameworks, tools and practices

Support scalable front-end architectures, including component-based approaches, reusable front-end patterns, shared libraries, and micro-frontends where relevant.

Drive secure-by-design, accessible and sustainable front-end engineering practices across teams.

Cross-technology support

Bring working knowledge of complementary technologies, such as Java, Python and .NET, to collaborate effectively with full-stack and back-end teams.

Help structure complex technical topics and translate them into clear implementation options

Understand how applications work end-to-end beyond the front-end layer, including back-end interactions, APIs, integrations, infrastructure dependencies and key technical concepts such as micro-frontends and microservices.

AI-assisted software engineering and automation
-
Support the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering practices across teams by helping define responsible, secure and effective usage guidelines.

Help integrate practices such as spec-driven development, AI-assisted coding, automated documentation, test generation and code review support into existing engineering standards and workflows.

Evaluate AI tools in a fast-evolving technology landscape, assessing their practical value for engineering productivity, quality, maintainability and developer experience
Technical skills
-
Strong experience as a senior software engineer, front-end lead, technical lead, solution engineer or similar technical role.
-
Deep knowledge of front-end development, especially Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

Experience with Stencil, web components or component-based architecture is a strong asset.

Strong understanding of front-end architecture, reusable components, design systems, shared libraries and modern web application development.

Good understanding of micro-frontends, microservices, APIs.

Working knowledge of multiple technologies such as Java, Python and .NET.

Experience with Git-based development workflows, branching strategies, pull requests and code reviews.
-
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices and software delivery automation.
-
Experience with quality and security tools such as SonarQube, dependency scanning tools, code analysis tools or equivalent.

Understanding of secure coding principles and application security risks, especially in web environments.

Awareness of web accessibility, sustainable software engineering and performance-oriented development.

Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development tools, including coding assistants, AI-based documentation, test generation or spec-driven development.

Ability to evaluate new technologies and translate them into practical recommendations, standards or guidelines.

Active contribution to, or strong awareness of, the open-source ecosystem is a plus.
