Your role:
As Supply Chain Officer you are responsible for organizing, analysing and optimising the supply and the stock distribution of flow of the finished goods from one or more production sites through the complete network of Bakery Products from Vandemoortele. Furthermore, you are also involved in several supply chain projects. In this role you report directly to the Supply Chain Manager Bakery Products.
Your key responsibilities:
Stock level and service level
- You are responsible for the follow-up of the stock level so you can guarantee the agreed service towards clients.
- You anticipate possible availability issues of products, by evaluating the stock levels, based on production programs, from a distribution warehouse perspective, as well as from the perspective of the departing warehouse (usually the production site).
- You are able to prioritize and align with the production planner.
- You provide an accurate weekly service level reporting, problem analysis, definition and follow-up of improvement actions.
- You strive for maximum use of internal warehouse capacity without risk of saturation.
Organizing Transport (TLB = Transport Load Building):
- You organize an optimal transport between the factories and warehouses against a minimal cost.
- You ensure the optimal assembly of the trucks, to transport the goods to the right warehouse in a timely manner and in the right quantities.
- You take the stock levels into account for each warehouse, the customer service level required, and the limited storage capacity.
- On a weekly basis you report about the transport load, analysis of problem cases, definition and follow-up of improvement actions.
Stock target & priority setting:
- On a continuous basis, you translate the strategic choices of the group into correct stock targets.
- You define production targets together with the production planner, taking into account the change-over periods, variability in sales and the complexity of the network.
- You define network targets in function of transport lead times and variability in sales.
- You manage adjustments of targets taking into account the priority settings, in favor of the clients.
Scrapping cost reduction:
- You are responsible for the follow-up of the production planning of new products.
- You identify slow rotating stocks, analyze of the possible causes, reducing liquidation of products, etc.
- Furthermore you identify obsolete stocks and you look for alternatives.
- You are responsible for the weekly reporting POS, analysis and follow-up of improvement plans.
Back-up production planner:
- As Supply Chain Officer you are able to act as a back-up of the production planner for your production sites.
Projects:
- Finally you also contribute to larger improvement projects.

- You are able to proactively translate insights into strategic priorities and actions.
- You are a team player, socially skilled and creative who likes working in an international environment.
- You have excellent knowledge of Excel and are willing to deepen in SAP.
- You are fluent in three languages: Dutch, English and French.
- You will be based at our office in Ghent.
