Acts as senior plumber and technical lead for the Public Works Department. Oversees all plumbing operations, including water distribution, sewage, and wastewater system maintenance. Plans and reviews work orders, inspects installations for compliance with IPC/UPC and DPW requirements, and ensures safety and environmental standards are met. Provides technical guidance to teams and supports QA/QC audits under LOGCAP V / V2X standards. Complete other duties as assigned
Responsibilities:

Correctly and efficiently completes installation, modification and repairs of various plumbing systems and equipment, e.g., replaces defective pipes, fittings, fixtures, and valves

Accurately tests completed work for proper drainage, flow and venting

Properly measures, fabricates and installs odd size adjoining parts and/or improvises installations when blueprints and sketches do not provide sufficient Information.

Properly uses, maintains, and accounts for all types of hand and/or power tools as required, to accomplish assigned duties.

Skill in the use of any of the accepted trade methods and techniques, such as wiping and pouring lead joints, seating equipment, and installing any combinations of couplings, unions, and joint need for proper operation of the systems.

Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fitting using coupling, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.

Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks

Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines

Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools

Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fitting equipment to join plumbing to fixtures

Be able to perform on call duties after normal duty hours and on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

High school diploma or equivalent

Master-level plumbing experience or equivalent

Leadership over multi-crew operations

Advanced knowledge of plumbing codes and standards

Valid driver’s license

OSHA 30 (OSHA 500 preferred) (required within 90 days of hire)

LOTO program administrator training (required within 90 days of hire)

Advanced safety leadership training (required within 90 days of hire)

Master plumbing license (Or equivalent, required)

Water treatment certification (Preferred)

Backflow tester certification (Preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of completion of trade school and/or a minimum of Four (4) years of apprenticeship training preferred.

A minimum of ten (10) years plumbing and/or mechanical-pipefitting systems experience,
-
Skills:

Ability to work extended periods of times, shift work, and on-call.

Able to plan, order material and coordinate work with Supervisors and customers.

Ability to work alone or work in a team environment.

Possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills.

Ability to address a wide variety of audiences.

Working Conditions:
-
Must be capable of working in a tropical weather condition with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).

Physical Requirements:

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
