Description:
As Plant Manager for the East Basin (Moha, Seilles & Engis), you will be responsible for the operational and administrative management of the sites under your responsibility. You will provide leadership and ensure compliance with legislated regulations. You will develop and maintain a highly productive team of management and hourly employees by constantly driving training, communications, employee involvement, and continuous improvement. You will direct and integrate all operations across the manufacturing facilities.
Under the management of the Operational Director CWE, your responsibilities will be :
Health, Safety, and Environmental Efficiency in Operations
- You will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment in the execution of all duties and activities.
- You will provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with legislation (Occupational Health& Safety Act, OSHA and MSHA dependent on area, etc.) are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals and monitoring the safety program and its effectiveness.
You will monitor environmental compliance and ensure housekeeping standards are met.

Leadership of site employees
- You will maintain positive employee relations through strong communications and problem solving.
- You will ensure the implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively.
You will monitor workload to evaluate the staffing levels.

Managing External Partnerships with all Stakeholders
- You will interface with all governing agencies as required.
- You will maintain positive community relations.
You will act as the face of Carmeuse and the site within the community

Operational Efficiency
- You will drive site performance through effective use of the System for Management, including continuous improvement and non-conformance resolution.
- You will ensure quality of product during process and adjust production plans to meet customer requirements.
- You will monitor and maintain the Industrial plan including prioritization and monitoring of Capital project work.
- You will routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings.
- You will manage organizational requirements to meet sales, production and maintenance requirements.
- You will ensure the execution of the daily production plan.
- You will explain significant variances from the plan and provides leadership for improvements within the operations groups.
- You will monitor workload to evaluate the staffing levels.
You will monitor costs and implement cost reduction projects which are consistent with budgets and business plans, quality requirements, and available resources.

Minimum skills & qualifications:
- You hold at least a Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- You bring at least 10 years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing, mining, steel or plant environment.
- You have strong knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes and industrial operations.
- You understand maintenance practices, quality systems, and health, safety & environmental standards.
- Experience in unionized environment, including negotiations skill would be an asset.
- You master MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- You are proficient in SAP knowledge.
- You are fluent in English.
- You communicate effectively and inspire engagement across all levels of the organization.
- You have strong abilities in people management.
- You provide strong leadership, building trust, accountability, and high-performing teams.
- You drive results through a proactive, action-oriented, and continuous improvement mindset.

The team:
You will be part of the Operations Department at Carmeuse and report directly to Elise Di Marino, Operational Director CWE. You will work closely with the Production, Maintenance, and Quarry teams, leading a team of six direct reports and collaborating with key stakeholders on a daily basis.
