We are looking for reliable and motivated self-employed newspaper delivery drivers to join our team in Ghent, Belgium.
This is an early-morning position, ideal for people who enjoy working independently and finishing their work before the start of the day.
Work schedule
Full-time: Monday to Saturday
Part-time: Saturdays only
Working hours:
- Arrival at the depot: 03:15
- Route starts: 03:30
- Monday to Friday: finish by 08:00
- Saturday: finish by 10:00
- No work on Sundays
Requirements
- Active self-employed status (PFA/Freelancer/Independent Contractor) or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- Valid Category B driving licence with at least 1 year of driving experience.
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Comfortable working early morning hours.
- Own vehicle is an advantage.
- Previous delivery or courier experience is appreciated but not required. Full training (2–3 days) is provided based on individual learning pace.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at the depot on time to collect newspapers.
- Verify newspaper quantities according to the daily distribution list.
- Report any missing copies before departure.
- Use the company delivery application throughout the route.
- Confirm each completed delivery in the app.
- Take photos of addresses requiring proof of delivery when requested.
- Complete the assigned route within the required timeframe.
Pay & Benefits
- Starting from €0.30 per newspaper delivered.
- Monthly payment on the 15th of each month.
- Option to request a weekly advance of up to 30% of earned income.
- Monthly performance competition with two €250 bonuses awarded to the drivers with the lowest complaint rate.
- Short working day (approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes).
- Once your route is completed, you are free to go home—there is no need to return to the depot.
- Additional delivery routes are available and paid separately if you wish to earn more.
Average workload
After the initial training period (typically 1–3 weeks):
- Approximately 350 newspapers per weekday.
- Approximately 450 newspapers on Saturdays.
Operating costs
Drivers are responsible for their own fuel expenses, which average approximately €250–€300 per month, depending on the route and vehicle.
