INTRODUCTION
I am 33 years old, live in Antwerp, have been blind since birth and thoroughly enjoy meeting people from all over the world. My personal interests include films, music, travelling, international current affairs and politics.
I am looking for a part-time fluent English-speaking personal assistant to help me go about my daily life. The activities I need help with might include attending concerts, doing shopping, visiting people, going to the theatre, cinema, reading things, etc.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Requirements
- No qualifications, references or experience needed. Your eyes just need to work.
- You must have an idiomatic level of English, ideally C2. No other languages are required.
- Basic knowledge of Dutch might be a plus for practical reasons.
- You should be a good communicator. You should always feel comfortable asking questions, making suggestions or telling me if something is not working for you.
- Being able to drive me in your own car would be a plus, but I am equally happy to take public transport or taxis with you.
- Ability to read maps and plan journeys would be very welcome.
Wage
€12 an hour.
Paperwork
I will take care of the administrative side for you through a platform called Exxtra. The successful candidate will need to provide me with their name, email, address, bank account number (IBAN) and 'rijksregisternummer'. This information will, of course, be kept private. Exxtra will send you a contract to sign, pay you at the end of the month, collect 10,7% in tax and provide you with a tax form every year. We will both be insured during your working hours.
Working hours
Currently a few hours a month.
Benefits
If you are receiving benefits due to illness or disability, you will most likely not be entitled to them on the days you work for me.
Voluntary work
You can combine voluntary work with this job as long as you are not providing similar services as a volunteer.
