The Role: We need a practical, sharp 3D Technical Designer with strong common sense to bridge the gap between complex engineering and real-world installation. AirClad manufactures premium, modular event structures used worldwide. Your job isn’t to invent new products; it’s to look at existing engineering CAD models (Rhino/AutoCAD/SolidWorks) and figure out the most logical, foolproof way to build them. You will translate these models into highly clear, visual, step-by-step Build Manuals and Assembly Sequences that site crews can easily follow on the ground. If you love deconstructing complex objects and creating intuitive "Lego-style" visual guides, this role is for you.
What You’ll Actually Do?
- Create Visual Guides: Turn raw 3D models into exploded views, step-by-step assembly diagrams, and annotated parts illustrations.
- Simplify the Complex: Use your common sense to break down heavy technical assemblies into straightforward, sequential steps for installers of all experience levels.
- Own the Library: Maintain absolute consistency in layout, styling, and part-numbering across all documentation.
- Update & Iterate: Revise existing manuals quickly as our products evolve or get upgraded.
- Collaborate Directly: Work alongside our engineering and technical support teams to double-check assembly logic and accuracy.
What We Are Looking For:
- Rhino Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Rhino for 3D modeling and visualization.
- SolidWorks Literacy: Ability to navigate, read, and pull data from SolidWorks assemblies.
- Practical Mindset: You inherently understand how physical things fit together in the real world, not just on a screen.
- Clear Visual Communicator: A proven eye for layout—you know exactly how to use perspective, arrows, and minimal text to explain a step clearly.
- Self-Driven & Detailed: You catch small errors (like a mislabeled bolt or awkward angle) before anyone else does, and you can manage your own time remotely.
- Language: Clear written English for concise labeling and callouts.
- Eligibility: Must be based in the UK or Belgium (with strong preference for Cumbria/North England or Antwerp).
Nice-to-Haves (But Not Dealbreakers)
- Experience with manual layout tools like Adobe InDesign.
- A background in modular systems, temporary structures, events, scaffolding, or tensile fabrics.
- Prior experience creating assembly guides for manufacturing or construction.
