We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our Validation team within the Powertrain – Hybrid Transmission Technology department. In this role, you operate with a high degree of autonomy and take technical ownership of complex validation activities spanning full transmission systems, hybrid architectures, and individual powertrain components.
You work closely with validation engineers and validation architects, receiving test requests at component or system level, and you translate these into structured test plans, procedures, and results.
Responsibilities
- Receive and interpret test demands from validation engineers or validation architects (system-level), and translate them into concrete test procedures and test equipment setups.
- Plan, prepare, execute and report development and validation tests across different scopes:
- System tests : full transmission with combustion engine (CAN communication health, SW validation, diagnostic checks, shift behavior, high-volume signal monitoring across complex transmission systems)
- Hybrid tests : integration with e-machine, electric actuators, and associated SW layers
- Component tests : geartrain (gears, bearings), hydraulic pumps, gear actuation/shifting systems, hardlock, vehicle-level tests under real operating conditions
- Monitor and process test data using scripting tools; identify anomalies and escalate or resolve root causes.
- Ensure milestones are met by converting mid/long-term planning into weekly priorities and proactively removing roadblocks.
- Represent validation across disciplines and communicate test status clearly to engineering stakeholders.
- Contribute to quality standards in line with ISO 17025.
- Mentor junior test engineers when needed.
Background
- Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent by experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in powertrain or transmission testing
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: automatic or hybrid transmission, differential, combustion engine, electric motors, or suspension systems (e.g. shock absorbers) — transmission testing experience preferred
- Proven ability to work independently on complex, multi-signal test campaigns

Languages
- Fluent English (mandatory)
- French and/or Italian is a strong plus
