What does a designer centrifugal compressors do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As a designer centrifugal compressors, you will become part of a highly specialized team focused on the design of next-generation direct-drive and integrally geared centrifugal compressors. Your primary responsibility as a designer centrifugal compressors is the full engineering of complete compressor cores, which includes managing large assemblies, drawing creation, and precise bill of materials (BOM) management. In this role, you will develop complex structured CAD models , perform parametric modeling for part variants, and execute basic finite element analysis (FEA) alongside mechanical calculations. You will collaborate closely with project teams, incorporate production feedback into improved designs, and occasionally follow up on the physical assembly of prototype machines or create custom designs for demanding applications where every marginal gain counts.
In this role, you will report to the team leader centrifugal compressors and work via a hybrid model at our facility in Wilrijk.

Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical design experience
Advanced CAD modeling proficiency with a preference for CATIA software
Applied knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing alongside standard production methods
Experience working within product lifecycle management systems is a plus
Professional fluency in English or Dutch with a willingness for occasional travel abroad
