As an Engineering Quality Assurance (EQA) engineer within the FTK team you will be part of the engineering department of the Airtec division. Airtec is a division within Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area. The headquarter is in Antwerp (Belgium) but has other production locations over the rest of the world.
Airtec division is responsible for the design, development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly of all Atlas Copco compressor elements worldwide.
Airtec engineering consists of different teams all with their specific range, technology and responsibilities such as oil injected compressors, oil free compressors, blowers, turbo’s, motors, coolers, scroll element, etc.
FTK’s mission is to continuously maintain and improve all Airtec products by proactive and reactive quality management. FTK also gives support to the organization in terms of training, continuous improvement, problem solving, field testing, process improvements, …

As an EQA engineer part of the FTK team you are responsible for the general engineering quality assurance of several product ranges or technologies within the Airtec product development. You do this by
- Reviewing designs of the products on a global scale. This includes scrutinizing the justification for changes (calculations, test, …)
- Participating and leading DFMEA’s
- Assessing application approvals for Airtec products
- Investigating the root cause for field quality issues like failures, excessive fault codes, bad customer perception etc.
- Driving corrective and preventive actions together with product, manufacturing and supplier teams in and outside of Airtec.
- Prioritizing quality issues and actions based on customer impact, safety, reliability and recurrence
- Spokesperson for Airtec in relation to field quality issues
- Keeping the knowledge documents and design manuals up to date
- Evaluating quality deviations in Airtec production
- Training the organization related to the products
- Reporting the quality performance on divisional quality meetings
