For one of our clients active in the railway infrastructure sector, we are looking for a Senior IT System Engineer to support high-availability IT environments used in train, tram and metro infrastructure.
Mission
You will provide 2nd line system support, maintain IT infrastructure, manage incidents, perform updates and patches, and contribute to infrastructure security and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain, install and configure hardware and software environments.
Follow up on incidents, failures and changes.
Perform testing, debugging, updates and patches.
Provide 2nd line support and participate in on-call rotations.
Support go-live and hypercare periods, sometimes outside business hours.
Document technical procedures and keep documentation up to date.
Required Skills
Strong experience in IT infrastructure and system engineering.
Very good knowledge of Linux CentOS / RedHat.
Scripting skills: Bash and/or Python.
Very good knowledge of VMware, vSphere, vCenter, vMotion.
Experience in high-availability production environments.
Basic network knowledge: router, switch, VPN, firewall.
Strong troubleshooting and support skills.
Languages
Dutch and French: must be spoken and understood.
English: fluent.
Nice to Have
Veeam, Puppet, Nagios, Elastic Stack / Kibana.
MySQL / PostgreSQL.
Jira, Confluence, Git.
