Your Role
As a Functional Analyst, you are the "Architect of Requirements." You sit at the heart of our delivery teams, translating complex business ambitions into the technical blueprints that our engineers use to build the future. You aren't just a documenter, you are a Data Strategist who ensures that every data model, mapping, and specification strengthens the client's core data foundation.
Key Responsibilities
-
Architecting the Data Foundation: Lead the design of Conceptual and Logical Data Models that represent complex business relationships while consciously maintaining strict adherence to data quality rules and data framework principles. You ensure these models are scalable, flexible, and ready for modern warehousing environments.
-
Source-to-Target Blueprinting: Design detailed mapping specifications that define how data flows through the pipeline, ensuring Data Lineage and transformation logic are crystal clear for the engineering team.
-
Methodological Excellence: Apply advanced Data Vault 2.0 modeling techniques, with understanding of data layers and their respective functionalities and ETL processes, to build agile and auditable data structures.
-
Quality & Acceptance Ownership: Collaborate with stakeholders to define rigorous Acceptance Criteria, whether that is business users, engineers, developers or testers. You are responsible for the "definition of done," ensuring solutions are validated through meticulous test script execution and reporting.
-
Governance Advisory: Partner with our Data Governance specialists to bake quality, privacy, and compliance standards directly into the functional design of every solution.
-
Strategic Requirement Engineering: Act as the primary translator between business leaders and technical squads. You don't just "gather" requirements; you analyze, challenge, and refine them into high-quality functional specifications.
-
Empowering the Squad: Provide continuous technical support to developers, ensuring they have the resources, clarity, and architectural context needed to succeed in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Your Background
-
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
-
Experience: 2 to 6 years in a functional analysis or data-centric role, ideally within a project-based or consulting environment.
-
Modeling Mastery: Proven expertise in Data Modeling (Conceptual/Logical). Deep knowledge of Data Vault or Kimball methodologies is a significant advantage.
-
Technical Literacy: Experience with modeling tools and a solid understanding of Cloud Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, etc.).
-
Strong SQL & Data Analysis skills: Experience with writing, debugging and validating queries.
-
Data Integration understanding: Ability to coordinate technical deploys with DevOps for Release & Deploy Management with ingestion pipelines.
-
Agile Mindset: Comfortable navigating Scrum environments. Product Owner or Scrum Master certifications are highly valued.
-
Governance Fluency: Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra or Alation is a major plus.
-
Communication: A bilingual or trilingual profile (English + Dutch/French) with the ability to influence both C-suite executives and back-end developers.
-
Consultancy DNA: A genuine consulting mindset is essential. You are comfortable working across different clients and contexts, adapt quickly to new environments, build trusted relationships, and represent Accenture with professionalism and drive.
