For Nipro Medical EMEA we are looking for a Project Manager Digital Ecosystem and R&D who is experienced, hands-on, and communicative to join us in our R&D team, based in our EMEA headquarters office in Mechelen, Belgium.
About the role
The Project Manager Digital Ecosystem and R&D coordinates and governs multiple interconnected projects that together deliver an integrated digital dialysis ecosystem across connected medical devices, software, cloud and IoT platforms, and data services. The role requires excellent project governance and coordination skills to drive alignment across R&D, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Software Development, and Commercial functions in a regulated environment, complemented by strong technical competence in digital ecosystems and connected medical devices. Relevant regulatory knowledge, including IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA QSMR, and cybersecurity requirements, is essential to support compliant decision‑making and effective delivery.
How you will contribute
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Ensure projects are executed according to plan and within budget.
Align project strategy and activities with overall organizational goals and business strategy, and regulatory requirements.
Set clear priorities and ensure that project initiatives are executed within timelines, budget, and quality expectations.
Ensure all the necessary governance processes and plans are defined (risk, resource, procurement, communication, stakeholder, quality, change management, and design and development)
Define and track key project performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project health and success.
Project Management Oversight (40%)
Manage digital ecosystem projects through the entire lifecycle (from initiation to delivery).
Provide guidance and support to project team members, helping to solve challenges and mitigate risks
Conduct change impact assessments and ensure alignment and engagement across global stakeholders during change initiatives.
Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, communicating progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Facilitate transparent communication between project teams, R&D leadership, and other departments.
Prepare and present detailed project updates, reports, and presentations to executives and other stakeholders.
Oversee resource allocation for digital ecosystem projects to ensure the right skills and capacity are available.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as product development, engineering, marketing, etc.) to allocate resources efficiently.
Provide mentoring for project team members and support recruitment efforts as needed.
Implement risk management plans and mitigate risks across digital ecosystem projects.
Maintain a proactive approach to resolving issues and maintaining the health of the project portfolio.
Global Change Management & Process Adaptation (25%)
Assist in the establishment of project management best practices, methodologies, tools, and standards, and ensure their enforcement.
Lead change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes and tools across global teams.
Update and harmonize project management procedures to reflect global regulatory and regional requirements.
Promote a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement in a global context.
Continuously assess and improve project management processes and systems.
Implement tools and technologies to improve collaboration, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
Integrate global best practices and feedback loops to refine processes.

Develop and manage the budget for digital ecosystem projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Track and manage financials for each project, ensuring adherence to budget and identifying any deviations early.
Provide strategic input on resource allocation to optimize cost and maximize value.
What you bring to Nipro
Master’s degree in engineering, digital technologies, life sciences, or equivalent experience
Proven experience managing complex digital projects in regulated medical environments
Strong understanding of connected medical devices and software development lifecycles
Experience working with global, cross‑functional stakeholders and external partners
Solid knowledge of quality, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements for medical products
