- Design, implement and operate container orchestrators (Rancher, Harvester, OpenShift).
- Deploy, maintain, and evolve open‑source sovereign stacks – e.g., Nextcloud, Element/Matrix, Jitsi, LibreOffice, Openproject, XWiki – with a focus on compliance, security, and data sovereignty.
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tooling.
- Provide day‑to‑day system support: user provisioning, laptop hardware management (specification, procurement, repair), and help‑desk. troubleshooting in a highly technical and engineering environment.
- Evaluate emerging tooling, propose pilots, and drive adoption across teams.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and business stakeholders to enforce governance.
- Produce clear documentation, runbooks, and training materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and shape the engineering culture.
- Represent our tooling community at external events.
- 7+ years of experience in IT tooling, infrastructure, or DevOps.
- Proven expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud‑native platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with Rancher, Harvester, OpenShift or other orchestration platforms.
- Strong background in open‑source tools, especially sovereign stacks such as Nextcloud, Element/Matrix, etc.
- Experience with IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu), CI/CD (Flux CD or similar) and the principles of GitOps.
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or comparable tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving, prioritisation, and project‑management skills.
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineering teams.
- Exposure to on‑premises and hybrid cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
- Passion for open‑source and community engagement.
