Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

With this in mind we’re seeking to grow our Data Team with the appointment of two Business Intelligence (BI) Developers to support our Healthcare+ business!
Your role
As BI Developer you will design, build and support business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across Yusen Healthcare. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and insight requirements, translating these into reliable dashboards, reports and analytical outputs. The role has end-to-end responsibility for BI solutions, including development, delivery and ongoing support.
In addition to BI delivery, the role may contribute to data engineering activities where required, including supporting data pipelines, transformations and datasets that underpin BI solutions. The role also contributes to the ongoing improvement of BI and data practices, with alignment to wider Yusen data approaches over time.
This position reports to the Data Solutions Manager, Yusen Logistics.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design, build and support business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports and analytical datasets, that enable data driven decision making.
- Gather, prepare and transform data from internal and external sources to support BI and reporting requirements.
- Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and performance drivers, translating these into clear and actionable insights.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and insight needs, translating requirements into effective BI solutions.
- Support data pipelines, transformations and datasets that underpin BI solutions, contributing to data engineering activities where required.
- Deliver BI and related data changes through structured, backlog driven delivery, balancing new development with BAU support.
- Apply data quality checks and validation, and document BI solutions, data logic and assumptions to support ongoing use and support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of BI solutions, data processes and ways of working.
Your profile:
- 2–4 years’ experience in a BI Developer, Data Analyst or data-focused reporting role, delivering dashboards, reports and analytical outputs in a business environment.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence and reporting concepts, including data modelling for analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming and analysing data and experience working with structured data.
- Hands-on experience developing BI solutions using Power BI, including dashboards and datasets.
- Familiarity with data integration, data cleansing and validation concepts.
- Working knowledge of data pipelines and how BI tools consume and depend on underlying data.
- Experience contributing to data preparation, transformation or modelling activities that support BI solutions.
- Experience supporting BI solutions in production, including issue investigation and enhancement.
- Experience working in iterative, delivery-focused teams (e.g. agile or sprint-based delivery).
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure-based data platforms and BI tools such as Databricks and Fabric/Power BI.
- Fluent proficiency in English (written and spoken).
