Are you commercially driven, entrepreneurial, and ready to shape the future of industrial supply chains across Europe? Do you enjoy opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and turning market developments into sustainable business opportunities?
Euroports is looking for a Group Strategic Commercial Manager to win new customers, create new cargo flows, and strengthen our position in Europe’s evolving industrial landscape.
The purpose of this role is to position Euroports at the forefront of Europe’s industrial transformation by proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities, establishing strategic customer relationships, developing emerging commodity markets, and generating sustainable long-term growth across the Group. This is a true new-business development role. You will identify tomorrow’s customers and opportunities, develop strategic cargo flows, and position Euroports as their preferred terminal and logistics partner.
We are One Group, One Experience… We are One Euroports.
Who are we?
At Euroports, we play an essential role in keeping global trade moving. As one of the world’s leading maritime logistics companies, we handle more than 70 million tonnes of essential goods every year.
Headquartered in Antwerp and operating across 10 countries, our 2,700 colleagues help keep global trade moving. Now, we want you to be part of that story.
Meet the team
You’ll work closely with the Group Commercial Director and collaborate with commercial and operational teams across the Euroports’ network.
Together with colleagues from Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Legal, you’ll turn market opportunities and customer needs into strong business cases and executable terminal solutions.
Your mission? Build a high-quality commercial pipeline, win new customers, develop strategic cargo opportunities, and help create the next generation of sustainable cargo flows across Europe.
What you’ll be doing?
As Group Strategic Commercial Manager, you’ll focus on sustainable, long-term growth through new customers, cargo flows, and strategic partnerships. Your primary geographic focus will include Finland, Germany, Belgium, France, and Turkey, while supporting opportunities across the wider Euroports network. The role involves frequent travel across Europe.
You will:
- Build and develop a strong pipeline of strategic commercial opportunities across the Euroports network.
- Identify new cargo flows in emerging industrial markets, including green steel, HBI, DRI, slags, pig iron, recycled metals, and circular raw materials.
- Develop new customer relationships and build executive-level connections with producers, traders, logistics providers, and industrial customers.
- Track market developments and investments in green industry, steel decarbonisation, the energy transition, and circular supply chains.
- Identify opportunities early and translate them into commercially attractive business cases and executable terminal solutions.
- Work across the organisation to support strategic investment discussions where required.
- Lead commercial negotiations for long-term, high-value agreements.
- Represent Euroports at conferences, exhibitions, and industry events.
What success looks like
During your first year, you will have built a robust and qualified commercial pipeline, developed relationships with key decision-makers in emerging industrial supply chains, and created strategic business cases for Euroports terminals.
Success also means converting opportunities into the first long-term contract from new customers and/or new commodity flows, while becoming a trusted commercial expert on Europe’s emerging cargo markets.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines commercial drive with strategic thinking and strong relationship-building skills. To thrive in this role, you:
- Bring at least 7 years of experience in business development, commercial management, or strategic sales.
- Have experience in ports, maritime, logistics, industrial supply chains, commodities, or a closely related sector.
- Have a proven track record of developing new business and winning strategic contracts.
- Are hands-on, proactive, and willing to take ownership from opportunity identification through to contract signature.
- Understand industrial logistics and customer solution selling.
- Are entrepreneurial, curious, and comfortable creating relationships and opportunities from scratch.
- Think strategically and take a long-term view of commercial development.
- Are a strong communicator and experienced negotiator who can engage credibly with senior decision-makers.
- Are fluent in English. Dutch, French, or German are an advantage.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
