Why do we need you?
As our breeding and seed portfolio continues to expand, we are looking for a motivated Seasonal Field & Greenhouse Technician to strengthen our Seed Operations Team in Gavere, Belgium during our annual seed processing and breeding season (September to March).
This is a hands-on role with a broad range of responsibilities across our warehouse, seed laboratory, greenhouse and field operations. No two days are the same, making it an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in plant breeding, seed processing and seed quality management.
What will you do?
You will support our Seed Operations team throughout the entire post-harvest and seed preparation process by:
1. Assisting with sowing, crop maintenance and harvesting in the greenhouse and growth chambers
2. Supporting field activities, including trial establishment, maintenance and harvest
3. Preparing the field season by counting, sorting and organising seed material
4. Cleaning, threshing, drying, counting and processing breeding and trial seed lots
5. Preparing seed samples for quality analyses and breeding evaluations
6. Performing seed quality analyses, including germination tests, thousand kernel weight (TKW) measurements and other laboratory assessments
7. Operating and maintaining seed cleaning and processing equipment
8. Preparing commercial seed orders, including repacking, seed treatment, labelling and shipping
9. Supporting warehouse activities, including stock handling, material movements and inventory organisation
10. Maintaining accurate records while ensuring high standards of seed identity, traceability and quality
Depending on operational needs, you may also have the opportunity to support harvest activities abroad for one week (2-3 days on-site) together with colleagues.

Who are we looking for?
You are someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in delivering high-quality results. You are organised, reliable and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
You also have:
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to work in a dynamic environment
- An eye for detail and a strong focus on quality and accuracy
- An interest in agriculture, plant breeding, seeds or laboratory work
- Flexibility to combine indoor, outdoor and warehouse activities
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- A collaborative mindset and a positive attitude
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English
- A valid Category B driving licence (required)
Nice to have
- A forklift driver's licence is considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience in agriculture, seed processing, warehouse operations or laboratory work is an advantage, but not essential.
