As an Estimator / Calculator, you play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive quotations for ship repair projects. You work closely with technical, commercial and operational colleagues and act as a crucial link between customer requirements and internal execution.
Analyse ship repair specifications and customer requests
Prepare complete and detailed quotations in Excel
Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Estimate required man-hours, materials and resources
Communicate with customers to clarify technical or commercial details
Send approved quotations and follow up where needed
Answer customer questions and update quotation files accordingly
Cooperate closely with colleagues from calculation, commerce and technology
Strong technical English skills (spoken and written)
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
Experience in a ship repair or maritime environment
Good understanding of ships and ship systems
Able to work independently while also being a team player
Motivated, eager to learn and flexible (no strict nine-to-five mentality)
Marine Engineer degree or equivalent relevant experience
