Context

The General Secretariat is responsible for the preparation, organisation and follow-up of meetings of the bank's legal bodies and monitors corporate and banking legislation on governance, statutory rules, as well as good practices in banking governance.

The bank’s Secretary General Department consists of the Secretary General, and 2 paralegals.

Your position

Assist the Secretary General in the organisation of the Board/Management meetings. This will include, amongst other, practical organization of the meetings, constitution of the documentation pack, follow up of the decisions/actions; etc.
Assist with the maintaining of relevant governance documents and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements regarding corporate governance;
Monitor relevant developments relating to company law/banking law in particular with respect to governance issues and make recommendations in relation thereto, develop best practices in coordination with the Secretary General ;
Assist the Secretary General and the Legal Department with ad hoc projects and advice;
Update the governance documentation (articles of association, internal rules, management report…), internal governance policies, manage the power of signatures, the UBO register etc.

Your profile

5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the areas of financial/banking/corporate law or law firms;
Bachelor in law or any other relevant field of study for the role
Affinity with new technologies (AI..)
Bilingual French – Dutch or at least a professional fluency in both these languages as well as an excellent command of English (written and spoken);
High level of professionalism and in particular in view of the role, be discrete and diplomatic;
Team player;
Working under pressure, while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Able to work independently;
Accurate and rigorous;
Ability to manage and prioritize the workload efficiently in a very dynamic environment;
