Job description
Wanna give your training a strong societal turn ?
We are looking for a motivated Master's student to join our Health Risk and Impact Assessment team.
Our team investigates how environmental exposures—including air pollution, biodiversity, chemicals, pesticides and climate—affect human health.
To assess the health impacts of environmental factors, Sciensano develops integrated research approaches that combine multiple sources of information, including:
- in-house toxicity data generated using in silico and in vitro methods;
- existing environmental and health databases;
- individual exposure and health data.
To collect these data, Sciensano regularly conducts field studies using a variety of tools and methods, including:
- monitoring devices (such as silicone wristbands used to assess exposure to environmental contaminants);
- questionnaires;
- participant interviews;
- human biomonitoring analyses of biological samples to evaluate environmental exposure, potential health effects and susceptibility factors.
These data are complemented by datasets provided by a wide range of partners, including Belgian Federal Public Services, universities and other research organisations.
