OPERATIONS MANAGER – SPORTS EVENTS
Own the operation. Lead the team. Make it happen.
We are looking for a driven, hands-on and highly organised Operations manager to join a growing company specialising in international sports event management.
This is a role for someone who takes ownership, anticipates problems and gets things done. You will have a high level of responsibility and autonomy, working closely with the CEO and leading the Project Managers to ensure every event is delivered smoothly, professionally and to the highest standards.
YOUR MISSION
You will take ownership of the operational delivery of a portfolio of international sports events, from planning through to execution.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own the delivery: turn event briefs into clear, actionable execution plans.
- Lead the Project Managers: allocate resources, set priorities, support and challenge them, and ensure accountability.
- Make things happen: coordinate hotels, transport, venues, catering, local teams and event logistics.
- Anticipate & solve: identify risks early, make decisions under pressure and resolve issues before they become problems.
- Be the operational leader: decide when to be on-site, manage critical situations and ensure projects are fully READY before delivery.
- Improve continuously: build efficient processes, develop the team and turn lessons learned into better ways of working.
WHO ARE YOU?
You are someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do.
You bring:
- 5+ years of experience in event operations, hospitality, travel, logistics, sport or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- A hands-on, solution-oriented mindset and exceptional organisational skills.
- The ability to remain calm, flexible and decisive under pressure.
- A natural sense of ownership: when you take on a project, you make it happen.
- The confidence to challenge, prioritise and say “no” when necessary.
- Professional fluency in French and English.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work weekends or irregular hours when events require it.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills; experience with project-management and reporting tools is a plus.
A passion for sport is a strong advantage — but your operational mindset matters most.
WHY JOIN?
This is an opportunity to join an international sports event management company where no two projects are the same.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Take real ownership and responsibility from day one.
- Work on exciting international sports events.
- Lead and develop a team of Project Managers.
- Have a direct impact on the quality and growth of the organisation.
- Work in a fast-moving environment where initiative, flexibility and reliability are genuinely valued.
If you are the person who sees a problem and thinks “I'll sort it out”, we'd like to hear from you.
