You will join a Belgian SME, a leading manufacturer of industrial machines in the laundry sector with international clients in sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, and industrial laundry. The organization designs and produces its machines entirely in-house in West Flanders and is known for its quality and technical expertise. About 60 employees work on-site, with currently around five active in the engineering department.
What will you do?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in critically evaluating and optimizing the existing machine range. You analyze current designs, propose technical improvements, and actively contribute to new developments.
Your responsibilities:
- You thoroughly analyze the existing machinery and suggest targeted optimizations in terms of design, assembly, and efficiency. You also implement these improvements into production.
- You actively contribute to standardizing parts (such as fasteners and components) to simplify production processes and inventory management.
- You support new development projects and actively think along about innovations, for example in the context of ironing installations.
- You regularly visit the shop floor to detect technical issues, analyze them, and improve production processes.
- You collaborate with internal departments such as production, purchasing, and after-sales to develop workable and efficient solutions.
- You work closely with engineering colleagues in both Belgium and the Czech Republic.
- You report directly to the COO.
Who are you?
- You are an industrial or civil engineer (electromechanics) with at least 10 years of experience in machine construction or a related sector.
- You have a hands-on mentality: you enjoy being on the shop floor and do not shy away from technical challenges.
- You have experience with Creo Parametric (Creo Modeling) and can easily create or modify technical designs.
- You possess strong analytical skills and are capable of critically evaluating and improving existing designs.
- You function well within a smaller structure and take initiative independently.
