Your role…
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer / Senior Purchaser to strengthen our procurement team. This role combines strategic sourcing, supplier development, contract negotiation and technical purchasing. You will be responsible for procuring specialized tanker equipment, managing key supplier relationships, negotiating long-term agreements and supporting project-based purchasing activities. This position requires a strong technical understanding of industrial components and experience working with international suppliers across Europe, the UK and Asia.
Your responsibilities…
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management;
- Develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodity groups.
- Negotiate pricing agreements, contracts, and commercial terms with key suppliers.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
Technical & Project Procurement;
- Source and procure specialized tanker components including pumps, valves, loading equipment, sealing systems, safety equipment, and tank accessories.
- Review technical specifications and supplier proposals in collaboration with Engineering.
- Support procurement activities for customer projects and volume-based purchasing opportunities.
- Negotiate project-specific pricing and supply agreements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable technical, ADR, and food-grade requirements.
Operational Support;
- Support purchasing activities for special and non-standard equipment.
- Resolve supply, delivery, and supplier performance issues.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Planning and Sales to ensure procurement objectives are achieved.
Your profile…
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Min. 5 years of purchasing experience within a technical manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Experience working with international suppliers and global sourcing activities.
- Experience with one or more of the following are a real asset: industrial pumps and pumping systems, valve technologies and flow control equipment, ADR-related equipment and regulations, Food-grade process equipment, sealing systems and gasket technologies, stainless steel and carbon steel materials.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Technical aptitude and ability to interpret engineering specifications.
- An analytical and cost-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication skills (Mastering English and Dutch language is a must!).
- Proactive, self-driven and results-oriented.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
