Within a Novalix insourcing team based in a pharmaceutical company, you will play a key role in the production of complex molecules to support drug discovery and development programs. You will join a small, dynamic and highly motivated team, committed to implementing new technologies and exploring innovative synthetic routes through passionate scientific exchange.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and supervising large-scale organic syntheses (up to several hundred grams) to deliver new chemical entities, advanced intermediates and key building blocks.
- Ensuring that all batches delivered meet the expected quantities, purities, timelines and quality standards required by the projects.
- Participating actively in the design, evaluation and optimization of synthetic routes, with a strong focus on robustness, reproducibility and scalability.
- Performing scientific and technological watch, using retrosynthetic analysis tools and literature data to propose and justify efficient and innovative synthetic routes.
- Identifying and addressing scale-up challenges (reaction performance, safety, impurities, work-up and purification).
- Contributing to the evaluation and, when relevant, implementation of new technologies (e.g. HTE, automation, flow chemistry…), as tools to accelerate route development and improve process robustness.
- Managing your projects with a high level of autonomy, including planning of activities, prioritization, and regular scientific interactions with the client.
- Ensuring proper documentation, reporting and communication of results to your management and to the client, in line with our standards.
- Contributing to a safe working environment by applying good laboratory practices and HSE rules.
Your projects may involve the reproduction, optimization and secure scale-up of established synthetic routes, as well as the development of novel and innovative pathways to support therapeutic research programs.
