YOUR TASKS
The Laboratory for Applied Geology and Hydrogeology (Prof. Dr. Thomas Hermans) is looking for a full-time postdoctoral research for a period of 4 months, to provide support to the project “Het borrelt in de Vlaamse Ardennen”. The research is related to the protection of springs and mineral water production and include groundwater recharge studies and flow systems, pumping test interpretation, groundwater modelling, hydrogeochemistry, geophysical well logging, groundwater exploitation. As a postdoctoral researcher, you are expected to provide support to PhD and MSc students for their research projects and thesis work and to provide logistical and organizational support to the MSc Sustainable Land Management, as well as support in teaching and practical training.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a PhD in Hydrogeology
- You have experience with the acquisition, processing and interpretation of groundwater related data
- You are fluent in English and have a basic level in Dutch
- You have experience in teaching hydrogeology.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from September 1st 2026 to December 31st, 2026.
- Your contract will start on 1/09/2026 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
