Job Overview
Elia Group is seeking an experienced Solution Data Architect to play a key role in the evolution of the Group’s digital and data landscape.
The role focuses on designing and evolving strategic digital and data platforms while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, governance principles, and business objectives. The Solution Data Architect will work closely with Product Teams, Subject Matter Experts, Solution Architects, System Architects, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to define scalable and future-proof solutions supporting Elia Group’s data-driven transformation.
The Data Platform vision is based on Data Mesh principles, including domain ownership, data as a product, and federated governance. The platform provides data services to internal customers and enables the creation of domain-oriented data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer architecture activities within strategic platform initiatives, bridging business needs and technology solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance to Product Management and Delivery Teams.
- Collaborate with Product Teams to define solutions aligned with Elia’s architectural principles.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, technology, security, and governance standards.
- Design solutions taking into account integration, application, and data capabilities.
- Support Data Product Teams in defining information domains and data products.
- Contribute to the definition of Transversal Data Models (TDM) and Canonical Data Models (CDM).
- Drive Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate architecture decisions and technology choices.
- Support Product Teams and Engineers in designing robust, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
- Facilitate alignment between business requirements and technology solutions to achieve strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of architecture and data governance best practices, methodologies, standards, and principles.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a Solution Architect and/or Data Architect role.
- Strong experience with data integration architectures across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
- Strong experience with API-based integrations.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and systems.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, including:
- Conceptual data models
- Logical data models
- Canonical data models
- Experience with messaging solutions and event-driven architectures.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale data and integration landscapes.
- Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture.
- Good understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Experience with IT architecture frameworks and standards such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or ATAM.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Autonomous, pragmatic, and results-oriented approach.
- Agile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Good level of English and Dutch and/or French.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Metadata Management.
- Experience with Data Catalogues and Data Governance platforms.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM).
- Experience with Big Data architectures.
- Experience with Data Lake / Data Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with Data Mesh architectures.
- Knowledge of Collibra Data Catalog.
- Experience with SAP, S/4HANA, and SAP Datasphere.
- Familiarity with architecture modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Experience working within the energy sector or large enterprise environments.
Pay: €10.000,00 - €10.300,00 per day
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Brussels
