A major player in the energy sector is seeking a highly experienced CMDB Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a centralized Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The role requires end-to-end ownership of the initiative, ensuring alignment with ITSM/ITIL practices, Enterprise Service Management (ESM), enterprise architecture principles, and ISO 27001 security requirements.
The consultant will act as both a subject matter expert and project lead, driving the CMDB roadmap, coordinating stakeholders, improving governance, enhancing asset and configuration visibility, and supporting the digitalization and automation of service operations.
Your missions:
Lead the end-to-end implementation of a centralized CMDB.
Design, deploy, and continuously improve the CMDB solution.
Define and govern the CMDB data model.
Drive the CMDB program roadmap and implementation strategy.
Ensure alignment between CMDB, ITSM/ESM processes, enterprise architecture, and security standards.
Lead project governance, stakeholder management, and delivery coordination.
Improve asset and configuration visibility across the organization.
Support impact analysis and strengthen IT governance capabilities.
Conduct assessments related to data quality, due diligence, and gap analysis.
Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 requirements and associated security controls.
Redesign and optimize Change Management processes to integrate them fully with the CMDB.
Promote adoption of CMDB-related processes across IT and business teams.
Contribute to service management digitalization and operational automation initiatives.
Your activities:
CMDB Strategy & Implementation
Design and implement a centralized CMDB solution.
Define and maintain the CMDB architecture and data model.
Establish implementation milestones and monitor progress.
Manage the CMDB lifecycle and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Leadership
Lead implementation phases from planning through deployment.
Coordinate stakeholders, teams, and project deliverables.
Manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and governance activities.
Data Governance & Quality
Perform data quality assessments and reviews.
Conduct due diligence exercises and gap analyses.
Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and governance standards are maintained.
Service Management & Process Integration
Align CMDB capabilities with ITSM and ESM processes.
Integrate CMDB with Change Management processes.
Support service management best practices and operational excellence.
Security & Compliance
Align CMDB practices with ISO 27001 requirements.
Ensure compliance with security controls and governance frameworks.
Support secure management of configuration and asset information.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with IT teams, architects, service management teams, and business stakeholders.
Drive user adoption and organizational engagement around CMDB processes.
Facilitate communication between technical and business teams.
Digital Transformation
Support modernization initiatives through service digitalization.
Identify opportunities for automation within service operations.
You have the following skills:
Technical Expertise
Minimum 10 years of experience in CMDB design and implementation within large-scale environments.
Strong expertise in Configuration Management Database concepts, governance, and best practices.
Deep understanding of ITSM and ITIL frameworks.
Strong knowledge of Change Management processes.
Good understanding of Enterprise Service Management (ESM).
Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles.
Expertise in data governance and data quality management.
Good understanding of ISO 27001 and information security practices.
Project & Leadership Skills
Proven experience leading complex IT projects.
Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to define roadmaps and drive execution.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and deliverables.
Analytical & Communication Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to bridge business and technical requirements.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC, or equivalent tools.
Experience in Enterprise Service Management (ESM) initiatives.
Background in digital transformation programs.
Languages
Fluent English.
Good command of either Dutch or French.
Location & Working Model
Brussels-based assignment.
Full-time engagement.
Hybrid model with approximately 2 days onsite per week.

You have at least 10 years of professional experiences in IT
