We’re looking for a talented Senior UX /UI Designer to help us design and build beautiful Shopify themes & Shopify Plus e-commerce stores for a diverse range brands & projects.
Qualifications:
- A driven designer with 4+ years minimum experience delivering both UX and UI design in digital including experience in mobile and web
- You’ll have expert knowledge of Figma (or similar design tool)
- Possess a portfolio full of beautiful, well thought out UI work that showcases your flair, attention-to-detail and UX thinking
- Expert with each stage of the UX/UI design process (eg: information architecture, wireframing, research, interaction design, visual design, prototyping)
- You’ll have a sound understanding of cross-browser, SEO, accessibility and usability design for the web
- You’ll have exceptional communication skills and be comfortable discussing your work with team members and clients
- Business minded, applying Design Thinking methods to match people's needs with what is technically feasible, resulting in viable e-commerce designs which convert to customer value
- Ability to design products and features that match how people think and behave
Responsibilities:
- Create e-commerce designs with a mobile-first approach while pushing the level of quality in both thinking and execution
- Wireframe and design working prototypes to define interactions and animations
- Participate in and lead both team and client workshop sessions
- Own projects from conception through to delivery ensuring consistency and quality of design output
- The ability to work on both UX / UI, and be able to lead UX design where required
- Perform Visual QA on your projects to ensure the quality of build matches what you and the client envisaged
- Gain client and stakeholder buy-in to your ideas through effective presentation and engagement
- Work with Developers and Product Owners to ensure effectiveness and feasibility of your designs while staying conscious of budget constraints
- Document intended functionality, behaviours and interactions in collaboration with your project team to produce technical specification documents
- Mentoring the more junior members of the design team through design crits, workshops and informal discussions
- Work closely with the Head of Design to build a best-in-class e-commerce design team
