Life Insurance Transformation Consultant
The Opportunity
Life Insurance is being reinvented. Customers expect Netflix-like digital experiences, regulators demand ever-stronger duty-of-care and product governance, and AI is unlocking entirely new ways to underwrite, advise, and serve policyholders across decades-long relationships.
To accelerate this shift, we are looking for a Life Insurance Transformation Consultant to strengthen our Insurance Transformation team. You will sit at the intersection of life and pensions expertise, business analysis, and applied AI — guiding insurers as they reshape long-term savings, protection, pensions, and unit-linked propositions for the next generation of policyholders.
This is not a "lift-and-shift" role. You will fundamentally rethink how Life products are designed, sold, administered, and serviced: which steps remain expert-led, which steps an AI agent can perform end-to-end, and how distribution platforms, policy admin systems, asset managers, and core systems plug together to deliver advice and protection at scale.
Your Mission
Transform Life Insurance operations — today still characterised by paper-heavy onboarding, fragmented advisor tooling, manual underwriting, and slow claims and surrender handling — into an AI-augmented operating model where:
Digital onboarding and IDD/suitability assessments are seamless across direct, broker, and bancassurance channels
Underwriting is accelerated through data enrichment, predictive risk models, and agentic AI
Policy administration, beneficiary management, and life-events handling are automated end-to-end
Advisors are augmented with AI co-pilots that draft suitability reports, KIDs, and personalised proposals
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Life Insurance Transformation Consultant, you will:
Map and analyse the Life value chain — product, distribution, policy admin, in-force, claims, and pay-outs — surfacing pain points and opportunities.
Co-design future-state journeys for individual and group life, unit-linked, branch 21/23, pensions (IORP II), and protection with product, actuarial, advisors, IT, and compliance.
Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specs.
Define and prioritise API integrations: policy admin, advisor portals, fund platforms, e-ID/signature (Itsme), KYC/AML, medical underwriting, pension trackers, and payments.
Specify, prototype, and pilot AI agents — document classification, KID/IPID generation, suitability drafting, lapse prediction, beneficiary verification, advisor next-best-action — expert in the loop.
Run business cases quantifying time-to-issue, advisor productivity, persistency, NPS, and cost per policy.
Lead change management: train advisors, underwriters, and operations; redesign roles and KPIs.
Operate inside agile teams as Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Scrum Master.
Monitor solutions and iterate to stay aligned with evolving regulations (IDD, PRIIPs, Solvency II, IORP II, RIS, DORA, AML and the AI Act).
Act as trusted advisor to clients.
What You Bring
Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, IT, or related — or equivalent experience.
2–8 years in Life Insurance, Pensions, Wealth, or consulting, with exposure to product, distribution, underwriting, or claims.
Solid grasp of Life and Pension products (branch 21/23, unit-linked, group life, pillar 2/3, protection) and regulation (IDD, PRIIPs, Solvency II, IORP II, RIS).
Strong process analysis skills: stakeholder interviews, BPMN, journey mapping, user stories, and test scenarios.
Affinity with API-based integrations — comfortable reading API docs and shaping integration designs.
Working knowledge of agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools like Jira, Confluence, and Miro.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication — fluent with actuaries, advisors, and architects alike.
Fluency in English and Dutch or French, with passive knowledge of the other.

The AI-Augmented Consultant
At NORRIQ, our consultants are AI-augmented by default — we don’t just talk about AI, we use it daily to deliver more, faster, and at higher quality.
We are looking for someone who:
Uses AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot daily for research, drafting, and prototyping.
Has a deep interest in agentic AI — how agents plan, reason, use tools, and collaborate with humans.
Is curious about GenAI in regulated industries: RAG, evaluation, guardrails, and the EU AI Act.
Wants to actively shape how AI agents are embedded into insurance workflows.
If you experiment with new AI tools the moment they ship and want to shape the future of insurance — we want to talk.
