That's why we’re seeking to grow our Data Team with the appointment of two Data Engineers to support our Healthcare+ business!
Your role
As a Data Engineer you will design, build and operate reliable data pipelines and data models that support reporting, analytics and operational insight. You will take end-to-end ownership of data integration, modelling and transformation, working closely with analysts, business stakeholders and IT colleagues to translate requirements into well-engineered, production-ready data assets.
The role focuses on delivering robust, scalable and maintainable data solutions while contributing to the ongoing maturity of data engineering practices, standards and ways of working.
This position reports to the Data Solutions Manager, Yusen Logistics.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design and build data ingestion and transformation pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources into analytics and reporting platforms, applying agreed engineering standards and design patterns.
- Design and maintain structured, well defined data sets that support reporting, analytics and operational insight, working with stakeholders to define data definitions, grain and business logic.
- Implement and maintain clear data transformation logic and validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency, and document data logic, assumptions and dependencies.
- Deliver data engineering changes through controlled deployment and release processes, contributing to backlog driven delivery including planning, refinement and incremental releases.
- Own the reliability and performance of data pipelines and data assets, supporting production operation, issue resolution and incident management, and contributing to improvements in monitoring and operational standards.
- Ensure data solutions comply with agreed data governance, security and data protection requirements, collaborating with analysts, stakeholders and IT colleagues and communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering, business technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years working in a data engineering, data integration or analytics engineering role.
- Strong understanding of data engineering and data integration concepts, including ingestion, transformation and validation.
- Proficiency in SQL and PySpark, with the ability to work confidently with complex data logic.
- Ability to work effectively with data lakes, data warehouses and analytical data platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data quality, reliability and operational support considerations.
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (e.g. relational data, JSON, XML).
- Track record of supporting data solutions in pro-duction, including issue investigation and resolu-tion.
- Experience contributing within iterative, delivery-focused teams (e.g. agile or sprint-based delivery).
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure-based data platforms, including the use of Databricks for data processing and transformation.
- Fluent proficiency in English (written and spoken).
