The Finance Lead for the Belgian Market Animal Health (AH) will be a strategic business partner and strong finance professional to ensure a controlled environment in the Market and be part of the Benelux team with an overall current business of over $70 mio (Benelux: 190 Mio USD)
The Finance Lead will play a critical role in partnering with the Belgian leadership team in strategic decision making for Business and Finance operations, financial planning, and other areas.
Finally, the person in this role will be responsible for overlooking financial controlling and compliance aspects in the organization acting as a control/contact point for these matters. This also includes establishing policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with our requirements.
Finance Lead Animal Health Unit M/F/D
Responsibilities:
Be the sparring partner of the Belgium Business Lead
Lead the financial planning processes by providing timely and high-quality analysis and data analytics to commercial leads and challenging the input from the area business leaders and recommend timely corrective actions
Manage and provide recommendations to improve the P&L and Working Capital in the country
Provide the necessary support to ensure that regional and local teams achieve their goals
Provide value-added contribution to the Benelux Cluster in support of strategic business initiatives and financial performance improvement
Provide strategic and operational business support
Proactively manage the Risks and Opportunities
Proactively manage gross to net sales drivers as key focus area for the Belgian organization and manage the ongoing recording, reporting & visibility of these drivers
Liaise with Tax, Controllers team and Business to ensure local VAT compliance Be a key point of contact for external and internal auditors for local legal entity in relation to local AH Business operations
Work in collaboration with other departments/divisions
Active involvement in pricing strategies and policy
Ensures system and financial controls are in place and determines the operation’s consistency with company objectives and standards
Provide recommendations to improve Business efficiency measures through the optimization of resource allocation and P&L management
Ensure requests, reports and presentations are submitted timely with high-quality comments
Continuously challenge the status quo and provide innovative solutions for efficiencies to streamline processes
Ensure that new/existing Policies & Procedures, Internal Controls are adapted to local and business requirements and in line with our company standards
Ensure efficient collaboration and process alignment with the BSC and CoE
Participate in and lead cross-functional projects at different levels of the company
Ensure financial statements fully comply with US-GAAP and local GAAP
Qualifications:
Relevant university degree and other financial qualifications
Finance Professional experience of around 7 years
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage
Strong knowledge of SAP, BPC, Nexcast and MS Office applications
Skills/Capabilities:
Strong leadership skills to guide and collaborate with business partners

Strong interpersonal and communication skills: easy to get along with, optimist, proactive and self-driven

Strong compliance mindset and experience
Ability to clearly communicate in Dutch, French and English, both orally and written
Business acumen (e.g. knowledgeable in policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting our Company business)
Capacity to negotiate at all levels of the company and particularly Senior Management
Strong business understanding and strategic thinking / seeing the bigger picture
Good knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS
