Role Summary:
The Regional Head of Dry Bulk EMEA – Europe, Middle East & Africa will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting commercial opportunities across the dry bulk shipping sector, with additional exposure to break bulk general cargo and heavy lift activities. The role requires strong commercial capability, industry knowledge, customer relationship management skills, and a proven ability to generate revenue through business development and strategic sales execution.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Development & Sales:

Supporting Sales Managers in the Region to optimize the result for the Sector.
- Be measurement driven delivering the Regional sector revenue budgets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within dry bulk shipping, break bulk cargo, and heavy lift transportation markets.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline capable of delivering sustainable revenue growth.
- Generate sales leads and successfully convert opportunities into profitable business.
- Develop commercial strategies targeting cargo owners, mining companies, commodity traders, industrial customers, and logistics stakeholders.
- Conduct market intelligence gathering and competitor analysis to identify commercial opportunities.
- Negotiate commercial terms and support contract discussions with customers.
- Maintain regular customer engagement to strengthen long-term business relationships.
- Collaborate internally across borders and regions with operations and agency teams to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations.
- Represent the company at industry meetings, customer visits, conferences, and commercial events.
Industry Skills:

A subject matter expert supporting the Sales Team with expertise and meaningful guidance.
- Strong understanding of dry bulk shipping commercial dynamics.
- Working knowledge of break bulk general cargo and heavy lift logistics.
- Ability to understand cargo requirements and shipping solutions across different commodity groups.
- Commercial awareness of freight markets, vessel utilization, and maritime supply chains.
- Knowledge of ship agency functions and port-related commercial activities.
Candidate Requirements:

Minimum senior-level commercial or sales experience within shipping, maritime logistics, cargo transportation, ship agency, dry bulk operations, commodity logistics, or related sectors (7+ years).
- Demonstrated track record developing commercial leads and converting opportunities into revenue generation.
- Proven success managing customer relationships and delivering business growth.
- Experience working with cargo owners, traders, mining companies, or maritime commercial stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of commercial shipping environments and freight market dynamics.
- Prior employment within shipping companies, ship agency houses, dry bulk operators, maritime logistics organizations, or competing commercial maritime businesses.
- Existing customer relationships within dry bulk cargo, mining, metals, agriculture, or commodity trading industries.
- Exposure to break bulk and heavy lift project cargo customers.
- Experience managing strategic accounts and large commercial portfolios.
