Fiber Build Specialist
The Fiber Regional team finds solutions for all required connectivity popping up at our external and internal customers. The team builds and controls these solutions and defines the extensions to the network to fulfill the ever-growing demand of bandwidth.
Each fiber engineer is responsible for projects within their region. Supplying the necessary documentation (jetting and splicing scheme’s) for and assisting with execution is the focus. Additionally you are the first line of contact for troubleshooting, project managers, subcontractors and coax designers. Typical projects are the connectivity of business connections, fiber moves, RAN sites and FTTH. Cost estimations and impact analysis are also within your portfolio of tasks.
We are looking to reinforcement to the team, to help with the non-stop fiber requests.
Tasks:

Document the changes to the fiber network.
- Retrieve information from various sources, re-establish the correct status of the network by combining and reverse engineering of these sources.
- Ensuring administrative follow-up of all tasks, strict process follow-up to assure always-current status info on the numerous tasks.
- Identify common errors, define (with involved teams) database queries; and process the resulting lists of inconsistencies.
- Define improvement tracks which potentially could be executed by offshore teams.
- Search for optimal ways to accelerate the tasks, supported by Excel macros and other automation.
We are looking for:
- Experts in design and implementation of fiber networks
- Knowledge of fiber design & documentation toolset (e.g. GE SmallWorld or similar GIS applications)
- Excellent problem solving skills and getting things done mentalityBeing the first point of contact for the installation team for technical problems. Give them the necessary technical support.
Ability to balance between details and the big picture- Follows the work orders and takes the necessary actions
Strong analytical skills- Outstanding communication skills in English & Dutch
