EORTC promotes multidisciplinary cancer research in Europe. EORTC research is conducted in over 928 institutions in 36 countries. Its network of investigators comprises more than 5,300 scientists and clinicians collaborating in 18 active groups and tasks forces. EORTC walks closely together with patients through phases from cancer diagnosis, treatment, and their psychosocial experience after cancer.
The EORTC offers a one-year research fellowship (renewable to a maximum of 3 years) to learn the methodology of cancer clinical studies and being immersed in the activities of an international academic research organization.
The fellow will work with experienced biostatisticians, collaborate and interact with a multidisciplinary team inside the organization as well as with key opinion leaders in the field.
Main responsibilities / Major Activities
Statistical analysis plan writing, data pooling, and conducting statistical analyses based on data from EORTC cancer clinical studies
Contributing to abstracts and manuscripts in scientific journals
Profile
A master’s degree or PhD in statistics or mathematics or equivalent degree with good knowledge of statistics or mathematics.
Excellent command of English.
Experience with the use of SAS or affinity for programming demonstrated by the knowledge of other programming languages.
Knowledge of and/or experience with survival data analysis is an asset.
Ability to work independently, under supervision of a senior statistician.
Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Interest in medical research.
Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
The fellowship is based at the EORTC Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
