A lovely returning International Nanny family based in Brussels is seeking a reliable, warm and capable after-school nanny/tutor to support their two children, aged 10 and 8.
The family’s current nanny has been with them for a long time and will sadly be leaving in September due to study commitments. As the children are now older, the role has naturally evolved into a position focused on school pick-ups, driving to activities, homework supervision and providing calm, consistent support during the afternoon routine.
This role would suit a candidate already living in Brussels who enjoys working with school-aged children and is confident in offering both practical and educational support.
The family is looking for someone kind, organised and dependable, with a steady approach and good communication. The role is not a full-time nanny position, but it still requires someone professional, punctual and genuinely engaged with the children’s wellbeing, school routine and daily structure.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking initiative, managing after-school logistics and helping the children stay focused with homework while maintaining a warm and positive atmosphere.
Collecting the children from school or coordinating the afternoon routine as required
Driving the children to activities and appointments
Supporting and supervising homework
Helping the children stay organised with school bags, books, schedules and upcoming tasks
Preparing or offering a simple snack when needed
Encouraging good routines, independence and responsibility
Communicating clearly with the parents regarding homework, activities and any relevant updates
Providing calm, reliable and consistent afternoon support
Ensuring the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times
Previous experience working with school-aged children
Confident driver with a clean driving record
Already based in Brussels, with own accommodation
Strong communication skills
Reliable, punctual and well-organised
Able to support homework in a calm and structured way
Warm, patient and confident with children aged 8–10
Flexible and proactive within the afternoon routine
Able to provide strong references
French and/or English language skills, depending on the children’s homework and school requirements
This is a live-out role and would be best suited to someone already settled in Brussels. The family is hoping to find a long-term, stable arrangement with someone who can provide consistency during the school week.
A short handover before 20 September would be ideal, where possible.
The ideal candidate will be a mature, responsible and engaging after-school nanny/tutor who enjoys supporting older children with both their daily routine and academic work. They will be calm, practical, trustworthy and confident managing school runs, activities and homework without needing heavy direction.
