Don't let the title fool you. This is a broad logistics and supply chain operations role – with a customer service team attached – at the Belgian production site of an established international manufacturing group whose products are distributed worldwide.
You will sit at the operational heart of a compact, close-knit site, owning the full order-to-delivery chain across EMEA. One day you are optimising freight routes and negotiating with carriers; the next you are steering excise compliance through an audit or resolving a cross-border shipping issue before it reaches a customer. You will lead a small customer service team and work daily with production planning, sales and finance. No layers, no bureaucracy, full visibility.
Your Responsibilities
Transport & Logistics (EMEA):
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across the region
- Optimise freight costs, routes and carrier performance
- Manage logistics service providers and third-party warehouses
- Resolve transportation issues, delays and compliance concerns
Excise & Customs Compliance:
- Create, validate and monitor e-ADs and excise documentation
- Ensure compliance with local and EU excise regulations
- Support audits and inspections by customs and tax authorities
- Liaise with customs brokers, excise authorities and regulatory agencies
Customer Service Leadership:
- Supervise and develop a small team of Customer Service Representatives
- Ensure customer inquiries and orders are handled efficiently, from first contact to invoicing
- Coordinate with internal departments to deliver an outstanding customer experience
Continuous Improvement:
- Apply data-driven thinking to freight spend, service levels and processes
- Work in a culture that values prioritisation, clear communication and delivering quality without wasted effort
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in a commercial or logistics field
- 3–5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, customs or supply chain operations
- Experience with excise duty management and EU customs regulations is a strong advantage
- Fluent Dutch and English; other languages are a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Hands-on, proactive leadership style: you set priorities, solve problems and bring your team with you
What's On Offer
- A competitive salary package with bonus and strong Belgian-standard benefits
- Hybrid flexibility
- Rare breadth of ownership: logistics, customs, invoicing and team leadership in one role
- Genuinely specialist excise and cross-border experience – a real career asset
- The stability of a large international group with the autonomy and visibility of a smaller site
