For one of our clients, a major organization operating in a critical infrastructure environment, we are looking for an IT Senior Network Engineer to support the implementation of network segregation initiatives and maintain a modern, secure and resilient LAN infrastructure.
The consultant will work in a hybrid setup, with regular onsite presence in Brussels and, when required, on production sites in Wallonia. The mission is long-term and involves both operational network engineering and project-based activities in a complex IT/OT environment.
The IT Senior Network Engineer will contribute to the maintenance, evolution and security of the client’s network infrastructure, with a strong focus on LAN, network segregation, OT resilience and monitoring.
Main responsibilities include:
Maintaining and updating the Extreme Networks infrastructure.
Following up security tickets and CVEs related to LAN components, including switches, Wi-Fi, NAC and related network equipment.
Providing second-line support to users and technical teams.
Configuring and programming Extreme switches.
Supporting the DRP project through the design and implementation of Extreme network equipment.
Performing physical data center maintenance activities, including rack-related tasks.
Configuring, testing, implementing and improving monitoring through SolarWinds, including alarms and dashboards.
Supporting OT security monitoring by configuring Nozomi-related network requirements, including mirror ports on Extreme switches.
Working with Extreme XIQ.
Supporting network resilience initiatives in OT environments.
Fine-tuning existing network implementations.
Documenting new requests, existing infrastructure, changes and technical decisions.
Ensuring compliance with GDPR, ISO27001 and NIS2 requirements throughout the mission.
You have the following skills
Required technical skills:
Strong experience as a Senior Network Engineer in complex LAN environments.
Advanced knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching.
Expert knowledge of DNS and DHCP.
Strong hands-on experience with Extreme Networks technologies, especially:
Extreme OS
Extreme NAC
Extreme XIQ
Strong knowledge of routing protocols.
Strong understanding of network segregation and network security principles.
Good knowledge of LACP, MLAG and mirror port configuration.
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama and PAN-OS.
Experience with SolarWinds IPAM, monitoring, alarms and dashboards.
Experience or strong understanding of OT networking environments.
Knowledge of Nozomi for OT networking is a strong asset.
Experience with industrial networks, SCADA or critical infrastructure environments is a strong plus.
Ability to produce and maintain clear technical documentation.
Understanding of ISO27001, NIS2 and security requirements for essential service operators.
Languages:
French: full professional proficiency.

English: full professional proficiency.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work in critical and regulated environments.
Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You have at least 7 years of professional experiences in IT
If you are at least fluent in FR/ENG or NL/ENG it’s best
