The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is Europe’s largest ICT SME association, representing more than 45,000 small and medium-sized enterprises through its network of national and regional member associations.
As an active participant in EU-funded projects focused on digital innovation, skills, and policy, we are looking for a motivated student to join our team as a Project Management Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EU project management within a dynamic and international environment.
Applicants can choose between two internship tracks, depending on their interests:
Sustainability & Cybersecurity – supporting projects and initiatives related to digital sustainability, cybersecurity, resilience, and emerging technologies.
AI & Skills – supporting projects focused on artificial intelligence, digital skills development, innovation, and technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the project management team with research, content development, editing, and project coordination activities;
Support the planning and delivery of online, hybrid, and in-person events;
Create and publish content for project websites and social media channels;
Contribute to the preparation, review, and editing of project deliverables and reports;
Research and map key stakeholders, initiatives, and policy developments within your chosen internship track;
Monitor and analyse the relevant European digital ecosystem, identifying opportunities for collaboration and engagement;
Support outreach and engagement activities with project partners, SMEs, policymakers, and other stakeholders;
Participate in conferences, workshops, networking events, and stakeholder meetings;
Provide additional administrative and operational support as required.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who have:
Excellent written and spoken English skills;
An interest in EU digital policies, innovation, and/or EU-funded projects;
Strong digital literacy, including familiarity with WordPress (knowledge of CRM systems is considered an advantage);
Knowledge of another EU language, particularly French, Dutch, or German, is considered an asset;
A proactive attitude, strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be currently enrolled in a university programme and able to undertake a curricular (unpaid) internship and;
Be eligible to live and work in Belgium (EU Citizens or Belgian student visa holders).
Expected start date: September 2026
