Your mission
As a Field Engineer at NGIS, you are responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, testing and maintenance of wireless connectivity solutions. You will work directly on customer sites, ensuring systems are deployed correctly, perform optimally and continue to operate reliably.

What you’ll do
- Install & configure solutions: Install, configure and commission wireless communication and RF solutions at customer sites.
- Perform testing & validation: Execute functional tests and verify that systems meet performance and quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues: Identify faults, analyse root causes and restore systems to full operation.
- Carry out maintenance activities: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on deployed solutions.
- Conduct radio measurements: Execute required radio measurements and verify network performance after installation.
- Support network optimisation: Assist in improving network coverage, capacity and overall performance.
- Prepare technical reports: Document activities performed and provide clear reports for validation and customer acceptance.
- Ensure quality & safety: Follow established procedures while maintaining the high quality and safety standards our customers expect. You continuously look for ways to improve execution and deliver excellent results.
What you bring
In addition to a healthy dose of enthusiasm, our ideal candidate possesses the following qualities:
- Technical education in Electronics, ICT, Internet of Things, Industrial Engineering or Electrotechnics, or equivalent through experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Passion for telecommunications, wireless technologies and field-based technical work.
- Enjoys working with electrical installations.
- Likes troubleshooting technical faults and finding practical solutions.
- Takes satisfaction in repairing and restoring systems to proper operation.
- Dynamic, reliable and customer-oriented.
- Curious and eager to learn new technologies.
- Takes ownership of tasks and enjoys working independently while knowing when to seek support from colleagues.
- Fluent Dutch with a good basis in French and English, or fluent French with a good basis in Dutch and English.
- Career level: starter or mid-career.

To succeed in this role, you enjoy being hands-on, solving technical issues and working in different environments. You are comfortable taking initiative and working independently on site while remaining connected to the wider team. A strong sense of quality, reliability and responsibility is essential, as every installation and intervention contributes directly to the reputation of NGIS.
Bonus points if you have
- Knowledge of IoT or Cellular Radio Technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G).
- Basic knowledge of Linux and good skills in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies such as LoRa, Wi-Fi, TETRA, UHF PMR, DMR, LTE or 5G.
- Basic understanding of IP networking.
- Experience with radio measurements, wireless deployments or telecommunications projects.
