Job description
Wanna give your training a strong societal turn ?
We are looking for a motivated Master's student to join our Health Risk and Impact Assessment team.
The Health Risk and Impact Assessment Unit is involved in several national and international public health research projects.
This internship is part of the European HYPIEND project, which aims to evaluate the effectiveness of primary school interventions designed to reduce children's exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals.
Within this project, data are collected through questionnaires and standardized measurements. The internship will focus primarily on two data sources:
- three-day food diaries completed by parents using the MyFood24 platform;
- analysis of the ingredients of personal care products used by children, with a focus on endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

You like what you are reading ? Amazing ! Then, your tasks will involve :
- Reviewing and validating parents' food diaries according to a standardized procedure.
- Contacting parents by phone or email to obtain additional information when needed.
- Entering and updating collected data.
- Performing preliminary analyses of the food diaries.
- Participating in data collection activities in primary schools located in the Liège and Namur areas (carpooling provided and travel expenses reimbursed).
- Entering data collected during field activities.
Profile
Degree : Master's student in Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, (Bio)statistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health or a related field.
General skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with parents.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive attitude while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Availability to participate in data collection activities in schools.
- Respect for confidentiality and ethical standards in handling research data.
Technical skills
- Basic knowledge of and interest in nutrition and public health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to quickly learn new digital tools, such as MyFood24.
- Ability to follow standardized validation procedures and perform accurate data entry.
Language skills
- A good working knowledge of both French and English is essential.
