Proximus Global (BICS) is seeking a highly motivated Senior IP Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust and secure IP solutions that meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving abilities along with deep expertise in network administration and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:

Configure and troubleshoot a variety of network architectures

Design, test, and deploy technical solutions driven by business and operational needs, incorporating the latest technology advancements

Lead network design initiatives including topology planning, capacity forecasting, and redundancy strategies

Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and drive root cause analysis
-
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance
-
Create, maintain, and update system documentation and network design guidelines
-
Manage the full software and hardware lifecycle of network infrastructure

Engage with vendors, carriers, and peering partners on technical and strategic matters
Essential Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, IT, Electronics, or a related field

Cisco or Alcatel SR certification at Professional/Expert level, or equivalent hands-on experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Telecom/Internet service provider environment or with a network vendor

Demonstrated hands-on expertise in the following areas (including but not limited to):

Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and IOS-XR and/or Nokia SROS
-
IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols (BGP/MP-BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing)

L2 and L3 VPN designs aligned with MEF service standards

Traffic Engineering (RSVP, SR-TE)

Quality of Service design and implementation

IPsec configuration
-
Solid scripting skills (Python preferred), applied in the context of network automation
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code principles and practical implementation experience

Knowledge of programmable network interfaces such as RESTful APIs and NETCONF/YANG
-
Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

Experience with operational tools such as Nagios, Splunk, or Netcool
