Freelance IT WCS Integration Specialist – Belgium / Remote
Our client, a leading organisation within warehouse automation and logistics technology, is looking for an experienced
Freelance WCS Integration Specialist to support a large-scale automation project.
This is a
12-month contract opportunity offering primarily remote working, with occasional travel to Belgium required for workshops, project meetings, testing, and go-live activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with WCS providers, project teams, and business stakeholders
- Design logistics and IT integration concepts for automated warehouse projects
- Define processes, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria for WCS integrations
- Create and maintain WCS Integration Documentation
- Define secured communication methods including HTTPS, TCP/IP, TLS, and related protocols
- Develop interface specifications, trigger points, and error-handling concepts
- Assess business requirements and determine whether existing generic integration approaches can be reused or if local WCS enhancements are required
- Define both functional and non-functional requirements
- Support development of local WCS integration enhancements
- Capture and understand the wider IT landscape within automated warehouse environments
- Create test data and test scripts
- Execute Unit, Performance, and Integration Testing while supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Support Go-Live activities and handover into Operations and IT Service Management
Requirements
- Strong experience with Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) within automated warehouse environments
- Experience working on WCS integration projects
- Understanding of interface design and integration concepts
- Knowledge of secured communication methods such as HTTPS, TCP/IP, and TLS
- Experience working on Blue Yonder WMS projects
