As a Business Controller of the Freight business at ... Belgium, you will act as a key financial partner to operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting while driving performance insights across a fast-paced logistics environment. You will analyze financial and operational data (e.g., volumes, FTEs, cost structures) and translate this into clear recommendations for operational teams and senior management.
This role combines a strong analytical mindset and advanced technical skills with a strong business partnering.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze, and explain monthly financial results, including variances versus budget and prior months

Develop, track, and validate key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment between financial and operational data (e.g., volumes, productivity, FTEs)

Lead the preparation of detailed budgets and forecasts, aligned with business strategy and operational realities

Partner closely with depot, transport, and operations managers to review performance and challenge results

Translate financial analyses into actionable insights and propose corrective actions to management

Prepare and deliver periodic reporting to the GLS Group, including volumes, headcount (FTEs), financials

Perform ad hoc analyses on business performance and support strategic and operational decision-making

Actively contribute to cross-functional and improvement projects

Continuously improve and optimize controlling processes (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data quality)
