As Intelligence & Insights Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Burson's intelligence and insights offer and capabilities. Reporting directly to the Belgium CEO and a dotted line to the EMEA Chief Intelligence and Insights Officer, you will be responsible for market demand generation, client problem-framing, commercial growth and the interpretation of data-led outputs into clear client recommendations. You will partner with the regional hub for scalable production and technical delivery, while retaining market ownership of the brief, client narrative, quality sign-off and commercial accountability. This includes working closely with market leadership and client leads to identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and deliver measurable results.
This role requires a deep understanding of emerging technologies, and the transformative potential of data and AI, and their application to the communications and policy landscape across Europe.. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including client services, strategy, and technology, to embed data-driven practices throughout Burson and on client projects. A key component of this role will be to build and nurture relationships with senior client and team leaders in Belgium, while connecting into the wider EMEA Intelligence & Insights community.
- Growth Leadership: Drive growth of Burson's intelligence and insights offer, working with market leadership to source, shape and convert briefs from existing and net-new clients. Develop and implement market growth strategies, leveraging Burson’s AI product suite (Sonar, Decipher, KYO, Flight School, and the Fount), our wider tech stack and the WPP Open platform.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders and leaders, understanding their business challenges and developing tailored data-driven solutions. Lead client presentations and workshops, showcasing the value of Burson's data and AI capabilities.
- Team Enablement: Empower Burson teams in Brussels to leverage data and AI effectively. Build the business case for future local intelligence & insight capability, brief the regional hub with clear priorities and context, and work closely with hub teams to deploy scalable solutions for your clients. Foster a data-driven culture within the market.
- Product Innovation: Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of Burson's data products and AI suite. Identify emerging client needs and collaborate with product teams to develop innovative solutions. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.
- Thought Leadership: Identify and develop thought leadership opportunities related to data, AI, and their application in communications. Contribute to industry publications, speak at conferences, and represent Burson as a thought leader in the data and intelligence space.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Intelligence and Insights Officer, EMEA, market leadership, and other regional and global leaders to align data strategies and initiatives. Collaborate with other specialisms to ensure data is integrated throughout Burson's operations and client work.
- Data Ethics: Ensure all data projects adhere to Burson's data ethics standards and comply with relevant regulations. Promote responsible data practices within the agency and among clients.
- Extensive experience in data, intelligence and insights, with a proven track record of driving commercial growth and delivering client value.
- Deep understanding of the communications landscape, emerging technologies, and the application of data and AI in PR.
- Experience of, or proven interest in EU policy communications.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ideally experience in leading and developing teams.
- Knowledge of social, press, and web analytics tools, as well as research methodologies.
- Passion for innovation and a commitment to data ethics.
